We all know destination weddings are a thing, however, what emerged lately are destination engagement sessions. Taking advantage of a trip where your favorite photographer is, and turning it into an engagement photo shoot like no other. This is what Michelle and Ferry did while traveling to Provence to meet with Oliver Fly.

The emotion was taken to another level as Michelle and Ferry didn’t see each other for quite a while. Ferry was traveling from Indonesia, and Michelle was ending her European Tour. Both originally from Jakarta, they have decided to meet, and celebrate their love in style at the Château Martinay in Provence. Yes, that same château where Joe Jonas and Sophie Turner said “I do”a few years ago. Provence in all its beauty.

June is one of the most beautiful months in Provence. Lavenders are blooming all around the countryside, and the hills are painted violet. The gentle evening breeze caresses the cypresses, and I must admit, love is dancing in the air. A perfect time to celebrate Michelle and Ferry’s endearment.

Oliver Fly wanted his images to be the canvas of this passion. Elegance and refinement, colors and style. These were the words they had in mind with Alexander Gotama from LXE Moments. While planning their wedding back in Indonesia, Alexander wanted their engagement session to be as unique as their wedding will be. They knew, together, with his design, and the renowned photographer eye, they could create magic.

Together, they were looking for the best of both worlds: the glamor of a Château getaway, and the subtlety of lavenders. We say a scent can make you travel, but can't a picture remind you of a scent? This is what Oliver was looking for for Michelle and Ferry’s engagement session. He wanted them to be transported to this exact same place even months after, only by looking at their pictures. Oliver Fly wanted them to feel the sun on their skin once again, to breathe this lavender perfume as if they were here all over again.

Of course, wearing a Jacquemus dress, lavender was a must. Their grace made them float in this purple realm, and the sun at the background touched their faces as if it was blessing their love. One of the dearest moments I had the chance to witness. For an instant I had the feeling they were opening their heart, and it was not them, but their love that the famous photographer was capturing.

Back at the Château Martinay, the photo shoot turned into a fashion shoot. I mean, how could you resist when Michelle traveled with this amazing yellow handmade gown designed just for her by her dearest friend, the Indonesian designer Eddy Betty? Color of the sun, it is the warmth and explosion of their love Oliver wanted to frame. Powerful, elegant, majestic, stylish, the dress was Michelle.

With a gown that impressive, the Château Martinay was the perfect playground. It had to be regal just the same way. And when words are lacking, pictures speak for themselves.

Each couple has their own story to tell, and an engagement photo shoot is a chapter that defines their love. Michelle and Ferry’s love is deep, glamorous, elegant and stylish. A story for the heart and a memory to cherish.
